Theophylline
Theophylline is a sustained-release bronchodilator.
- It is used as alternative, but not preferred, therapy for step 3 care or adjunctive therapy in patients aged 5 years or older.
- To avoid toxic effects, serum theophylline levels must be monitored in patients taking this medication.
