Decreased Medication Effectiveness
If the response to ADHD medication is not adequately effective, patients will continue to experience ADHD symptoms and impairment. Monitoring for medication effectiveness with face-to-face visits, reviewing target goals, and obtaining DSM-based rating scale information from 2 or more major settings will help identify any problems that may develope due to decreased effectiveness of medication.
If the effectiveness of the medication has decreased, consider if the patient has outgrown the current medication dosage or become tolerant over time.
