Sources for Locating Dental Providers

Use these sources to find or create a resource list of pediatric dental providers in your area:

  • Your state’s Oral Health Resource Guide (Search on ”your state” Oral Health Resource Guide in any search engine)
  • Medicaid and CHIP Web sites
  • State Department of Health—for a list of Medicaid providers
  • AAPD Web site
  • ADA Find a Dentist
  • Insure Kids Now – See the Find a Dentist search engine
  • Dental schools
  • State or county dental societies
  • American Network of Oral Health Coalitions—check your state’s coalition for a dental provider list already created or whether they may be willing to assist in creating one
  • Community health clinics, rural health clinics, federally qualified health centers

Tap into the AAP COHA network and explore these sources:

  • Federally qualified health centers (community clinics) – some, not all have dentists associated
  • Early Head Start programs
  • Head Start programs
