Birth parent/family assessment for OUD common comorbidities
As part of the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, birth parents should be tested for common opioid use disorder (OUD) comorbidities, such as:
- Infectious diseases, including sexually transmitted infections
- HIV/AIDS
- Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C
- Liver enzymes and serum bilirubin test to detect liver disease
- Serum creatinine levels test to detect silent renal disease
